Finance Academy

Coulsdon Sixth Form College's Business Department is proud to be part of the Academy of Finance programme which combines specially designed classes with paid work experience and one-to-one mentoring from business partners. Last year, 10 students completed a 6 week paid internship over the summer with companies such as AIG, Citigroup and Royal & Sun Alliance.

Students who are accepted on to the Academy of Finance will complete this two year programme as part of their main BTEC National Diploma programme of study. The aim of the programme is to widen higher education opportunities and enhance career prospects.

The Academy of Finance was first established in the USA, in 1982, and has introduced thousands of students to a broad career in financial services. The UK Academy of Finance was launched in 2002 and is set to grow to become a major national programme. The Academy of Finance programme is hard work and will only suit students prepared to put in the extra work to receive the rewards. This year, 10 more Coulsdon Sixth Form College students will be invited to take up internships.
