Duration: 2 years
This course provides an opportunity to gain a professional qualification in Childcare. It will provide candidates with a sound knowledge of child development and the relevant theories. Candidates will also gain experience of working with babies and children up to the age of 16 years. Students may have the opportunity to study First Aid as part of their course. There are a number of modules including Development from conception to age 16, Play, Learning and Education and Keeping Children Safe. |
The course requires completion of the National Assignments and six work experience placements over the two years and success in an external exam. Work experience is arranged in a variety of settings. On successful completion of the Level 3 course, candidates may also progress on to Higher Education in related fields such as Primary Teaching.
