Interested in films? Would you like to spend more time finding out about them?
If so, Film Studies could be the A Level for you. Film is a key twenty first century
art form. It is now one of those media technologies that dominate our lives, in
the cinema or at home. We will be looking in detail at not only individual films
but at the societies that have produced those films. The course is based around
the study of films and film making, and also the study of cinema institutions
involved in the production, distribution and exhibition of films, including USA
and Britain. A wide range of films will be studied, including mainstream
Hollywood films, British Independent Film and, in the second year, world cinema.
Coursework includes storyboarding and video-making. |
