Forensic Science

This course aims to develop an appreciation of the competencies, skills and knowledge required for higher education and employment in Science based careers. You will examine samples taken from simulated Crime Scenes in some of the more specialised units and you will study Forensic Psychology and Criminology. Team building and problem solving investigations will enable you to be an effective scientist.

Your practical assignments will be supported fully with Biology, Chemistry and Physics theory required for you to understand analysing techniques. The course is modular and equivalent to 3 A Levels. Assessment is through assignments and projects years and involves a large element of practical activity.

This course can lead directly to careers at technician level. Alternatively, further study at a higher level will lead to jobs in areas such as criminal psychology, biomedical science, forensic science or management positions in the forensic science field.
