Mathematics

Mathematics is used in the design of new suspension bridges, for estimating the demand for new cars or for putting a spacecraft into orbit around Saturn. It is a particularly versatile subject and can be combined with almost any other. The AS course consists of both Pure Mathematics (algebra, geometry, sequences and series, calculus, trigonometry) and Statistics (correlation, regression, data distribution).

The A2 course contains additional Pure Mathematics and a Mechanics unit. In addition to the general entry requirements for this subject you will also need at least a Grade B in Maths.
