In the first year, you will explore different voices in speech and
writing such as analysing the script of a family in conversation, a
Weblog and a narrator in one contemporary novel. There is also
course work based on the novel, The Collector and a play, Our
Country's Good, around a theme such as entrapment. Here you
will also be expected to develop your creative writing skills. In the
second year you will study two paired texts linked by a theme such
as War, Love and Loss or Family relationships. Classes will also
cover non-fiction extracts such as letters, autobiographies, reality
TV transcripts, and also news articles to analyse. Finally you will
undertake investigative coursework based on poetry, prose or
drama and you may include a creative response. |
