College Life

Xtras

There is more to College than lessons, coursework and exams. Our Xtras programme offers a wide range of activities and experiences that will broaden your interests, increase your confidence and develop life skills. All students at Coulsdon can take part and have a say in planning the programme we offer.Students can even set up and lead their own groups in whatever interests them.

Duke of Edinburgh

At Coulsdon Sixth Form College we are involved with The Duke of Edinburgh Award. It provides an enjoyable, challenging and rewarding programme of personal development. The Award is a four-Section programme with three levels Bronze, Silver or Gold.

Clubs & Societies

Use your time at college to get involved in the many clubs and societies on offer. We have a well established Christian Union and Islamic Society, an Amnesty International campaigning group, a video games club, and a debating society.

Activity Week

Each summer Coulsdon Sixth Form College organises an Activities Week where students have the opportunity to try something different. Activities have included camping trips, digital filmmaking, skiing, ice skating, yoga and salsa dancing.

Creativity

Xtras also gives you the chance to express yourself through such activities as music production, performing arts group, dance and Radio Coulsdon, our own internal radio station.

Sports

The sports facilities at Coulsdon Sixth Form College are excellent. There is a new sports centre including a basketball court, a fitness suite, and new all-weather facilities for football, hockey, netball and tennis. We also offer the opportunity to play badminton, cricket, and rugby. If you want to start up any sports that we currently don't offer, just let us know.

Student Union

Students are affiliated to the National Union of Students (NUS) and along with a national voice this membership entitles you to discounts in lots of shops. If you really want to get involved you can be a course rep, committee member or even stand for President.

Your opinions are important to us, whether they are on the services we offer, feedback on the teaching and learning you're experiencing or even suggestions for improvements. You will be able to tell us what you think through the Student Council and student representation on the Governing Body.
