To work out your average GCSE grades.

It's easy to work out your average GCSE score. Each grade is given a number of points, have a look at the table below and then work out your average.

  • A* = 8 points
  • A = 7 points
  • B = 6 points
  • C = 5 points
  • D = 4 points
  • E = 3 points
  • F = 2 points
  • G = 1 point
  • U = 0 point

  • Just write down the GCSE subjects you have taken and the results that you have achieved or hope to get. Then add the points together and divide by the number of subjects you have taken. For instance:

    English - B = 6
    Maths - C = 5
    History - B = 6
    Art & Design - A = 7
    Geography - D = 4
    Drama - C = 5

    TOTAL 33 points

Divided by number of subjects (6) = 5.5 average GCSE score
